How It Works
Simple, transparent, twice a year.
We set aside 4%
Every product sale and every sweepstakes ticket contributes 4% to the Scholarship Trust. It's automatic, line-itemed in our books, and audited annually.
We open applications
Applications open every January and July. Applicants submit a 500-word essay, a recommendation, and a short video showing something they've built with their hands.
We fund the people
Two to four recipients per cycle get tuition, gear (hood, jacket, gloves, boots), and a welcome package. We follow up at the end of their first term to see how it's going.
Eligibility
Who we're looking for.
We're looking for working adults — not trust-fund kids, not people who already have three backup plans. The question we ask every applicant: if you don't go to trade school this year, does anything change for you? If the answer is "yes, a lot," you're who we're looking for.
- Applicants must be 18 or older and a legal US resident.
- Must be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited welding, fabrication, or metalworking program in the US.
- Preference is given to people for whom the scholarship is a make-or-break factor in attendance.
- No GPA requirement. Standing ability is not a factor (welders work standing, sitting, on their knees, overhead, and upside down).
- Veterans, career-changers, single parents, and first-generation college attendees especially encouraged.

Know someone who should apply?
Nominations are welcome. Send us the person, the story, and why they'd do something with this. We'll reach out to them.
